Equanimity Tree - Leaning In
I paint my Equanimity trees in small batches, when the mood comes upon me. That mood is a peaceful one, calm and medatitive. When Im feeling that way, this is what I want to do.
Leaning In was painted in February 2024 in my studio in Blackheath. I used a piece of rusty tin - an old sign I think it was, that I'd collected from the 2019 bush fires. That Gospers Mountain fire nearly took our house but was stopped just in the nick of time. I painted with tree with black sumi ink and then coated the tin with beeswax which stops the rust from going any further and buffs up to a lovely sheen.
