Equanimity Tree - Light
I paint my Equanimity trees in small batches, when the mood comes upon me. That mood is a peaceful one, calm and medatitive. When I'm feeling that way, this is what I want to do.
Light was painted in February 2024 in my studio in Blackheath. I used a rusty old tin plate that I'd found across the road after the 2019 bush fires. That Gospers Mountain fire nearly took our house but was stopped just in the nick of time. I painted the white ground and blue tree with japanese watercolours and then coated the tin with beeswax which stops the rust from going any further and buffs up to a lovely sheen.
