|Rough Track Workshop
In this final workshop for 2019, you'll learn to simplify the complex structure of native plants step by step and leave with a multi-layered artwork of your own creation, printed on fabric, like these fab pieces made by the hard working ladies at Hall Gap last year.
Time & Location
07 Dec 2019, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Rough Track Workshop, 325 Evans Lookout Rd, Blackheath NSW 2785, Australia
About the event
Due to a few people asking nicely, I'm running one more workshop for 2019.
As with all my LookDrawPrint workshops you'll learn to loosen up, reconnect with your creativity and make your own hand printed artwork on fabric. Working with simple tools and a basic stencil print process, you'll be learning skills I've been honing in my own design work over the past 25 years. The workshop is dynamic, challenging, playful and productive.
You'll explore mindful creativity, embrace chance and become friends with imperfection to make your own unique multi layered artwork. Prior printmaking experience isn’t necessary – this is a workshop that anyone can do. I love it when beginners come along. Becoming more creative is just a matter of using that creative muscle and LookDrawPrint is a way to kick-start that process.
These are accessible, inclusive workshops, open to any one over the age of 16. The groups are small - only 7 per class - and very popular, so make sure you book early.
I really recommend that you come up to the mountains to stay the night before the workshop starts, so you are fresh and raring to go on the Saturday. Best case scenario, you do the workshop with a friend or two, which makes it fun (and cheaper!) to stay in one of our two ironstone cabins on our land. Rough Track Cabins are set right in the bush on the edge of the Blue Mountains National Park and can accommodate 2 – 3 people each. If you're keen, get in quick. Of course, if the cabins are taken, I can recommend other nice places to stay nearby.
A delicious vegetarian working lunch and afternoon tea will be made by my partner Manda, who is a bit of a cooking enthusiast. The food is included in the workshop price. (Accommodation is of course, optional and additional. )
To see the cabins, go to roughtrackcabins.com.au.
To enquire about other options for accomodation or to learn more about the workshops, email me at julie@juliepaterson.com.au.
If all the tickets have gone for this workshop email us to go on the waiting list. This is the absolute last one for this year here in the Mountains but I will be adding more for 2020 very soon.
