Newcastle LookDrawPrint Fabric + Clay Workshop November 2 + 3

This brand new two day LookDrawPrint workshop starts with the fabric and ends with the clay. 

Day One LookDrawPrint - Fabric  Saturday 10 - 5 pm

Working with simple tools and a basic stencil print process, you'll be learning skills that I've been honing in my own design work over the past 25 years. Beginning with drawing, we will produce a prototype textile design based on the things we can see around us.

Day Two LookDrawPrint - Clay Sunday 10 - 1pm

Working in collaboration with Kara Woods in her pottery worshop space, we will be transferring the stencil motifs we made the day before onto simple, slab built clay platters. The platters will dried, fired and glazed the following week and sent out in the mail once finished.

Both workshops are dynamic, challenging, playful and productive. You'll explore mindful creativity, embrace chance and become friends with imperfection to make your own unique multi-layered artworks with two different mediums. Prior printmaking or  ceramics experience isn’t necessary – these are workshops that anyone can do. 

I love it when beginners come along. Becoming more creative is just a matter of using that creative muscle and LookDrawPrint is a way to kick-start that process.

These are accessible, inclusive workshops, open to any one over the age of 16.  The groups are small - only 8 per class - and very popular, so make sure you book early. 

All you need to bring along is your lunch, an apron and an open mind.
