Waratah
Telopea speciosissima or Waratah, was originally created as a one off cut paper stencil artwork on my art residency at The State Library of NSW, back in 2017.
We all love Waratahs especially when you catch sight of them growing wild. When they are blooming here in the Mountains around October / November time, you can see them from a long way away.
In local First Nations Eora language, the word for Waratah is Warada. This translates to " seen from afar" Makes perfect sense.
