Mountain Pygmy Possum Print
Oh the sweet little Mountain Pygmy Possum ( aka Burramys) , is on the brink of extinction.
These tiny mouse sized marsupials that only live in alpine places above 1100 mtrs are doing well as part of a breeding program at a place called Secret Creek Sanctuary in Lithgow, not far from us, but their future isn't great.
To date there are fewer that 2000 Burramys in the wild . Their favourite food, the Bogong moth is in decline and they are susceptible to being killed by feral foxes and cats. They need our help!
By way of support, 50% of the profit of this print will be donated to the Secret Creek Sanctuary who, by donation only, are doing a great job in supporting a breeding program for these, and many other, vulnerable native animals.
Trevor, who runs the program, tells me that the possums are in torpor right now ( a short version of hibernation) and will be waking up soon, when the weather warms up.
Help me raise some funds whilst the pygmy possums are snoozing!
