The Bangalay sand forest is an endangered ecological community in NSW, stretching along the coast from Sydney way down south. I went there to do lots of drawings, then turned the drawings into silkscreens. Printed on found pieces of plywood these works are warm and textural and one-offs. The technique of overprinting the screens and working into the shapes with lines and dots evokes the layers of vegetation along the NSW south coast. Each artwork in this series is part of a family yet created to stand alone as unique and individual pieces too.
